Prior to working with DSE Assessments Ltd, AutoTrader had more of a reactive approach to DSE, responding to issues when they were reported. Due to our large and growing workforce, we approached several providers to present a program for outsourcing of our DSE function. DSE Assessments Ltd offered a fully managed and pro-active solution, including designing a range of assessments to meet the requirements of different parts of the business. After being selected they immediately produced a bespoke suite of online assessments including office DSE assessments, homeworking, remote working and New & Expectant Mothers, and a robust assessment program was implemented.
At the beginning of 2020, preparations were underway for a new round of online DSE assessments across the whole of the company (approximately 1000 employees), when the COVID-19 outbreak forced staff to work from home. When it became clear staff would be working at home for longer than originally expected, we approached DSE Assessments Ltd to design a risk assessment program to reach out to everyone now working at home. They quickly produced a ‘Temporary Homeworking’ assessment and rolled it out across the entire company, providing advice and guidance for working at home, providing peace of mind that AutoTrader were meeting their obligations during this challenging time.
As a new way of working started to emerge, AutoTrader adopted a ‘Connected Working’ policy allowing staff to work flexibly between the office and home. A new online ‘Connected Working’ online assessment was developed to reflect these practices and a new fully managed program was completed.
DSE Assessments Ltd continue to oversee our requirements including assessments for new employees, office moves or where staff have discomfort or injury. They also provide assistance on site to assess where more in depth assessments are required which also include recommendations for ergonomic equipment.
